"Raise Hell for Molly" is a grassroots campaign of ordinary Americans inspired by the late national newspaper columnist Molly Ivins. We hope to continue her legacy of speaking plain truth to power with wit and style.

We are appealing to all Americans to act and speak out to bring our troops home now. Wear a black ribbon at work. Call Congress. Join our Pots & Pans protests on the 3rd Friday of every month.

We invite all Americans, peace groups and veterans groups to join us as we mobilize the voting public to tell Congress "We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders." In 2006 we voted for a Congress that would bring the troops home and we will not be ignored!

Our goal is to help organized the 70% of average Americans who want our troops home now.

Our political is philosophy is plain old democracy. We believe that voting and paying taxes is the beginning, not the end of our responsibility as citizens. We support the American men and women who serve our country in the military. We believe George Bush's policy, leadership and record in Iraq is a complete fiasco! As Molly Ivins said, "The president of the United States does not have the sense God gave a duck
- so it's up to us. You and me, Bubba. "

We are united on these four points:

• STOP THE SURGE AND ESCALATION IN IRAQ.
• BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW.
• DO NOT ATTACK IRAN.
• TELL CONGRESS TO END BUSH'S WAR.

These are some of the thing we have accomplished so far:

• We have created a public website to coordinate this grassroots campaign
• We have a growing network of Local Groups for people in cities and towns to organize pots & pans protests at district congressional offices.
• We are producing a special video to promote the campaign.
• We are coordinating a "Ballad of Molly Ivins" Songwriting Contest to honor her legacy and spirit.

We are just regular folks. Volunteers with regular jobs and lot's of other responsibilities, but we feel a need to speak out and do what we can. Please join our campaign of raising hell and banging pots & pans for peace. Contact us and we will support your efforts!
